Bungotakada (豊後高田市 Bungotakada-shi ) is a city located in Ōita Prefecture, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 18,239 and the density of 146.42 persons per km². The total area is 124.57 km².
On March 31, 2005 the towns of Kakaji and Matama, both from Nishikunisaki District, were merged into Bungotakada.
The city was founded on May 31, 1954.
